Welcome to AAEE WA Chapter (麻豆视频)
Over 40 years, the 麻豆视频 has worked with government and non-government organisations in the interests of quality environmental education. The WA Chapter is unique, involving a broad cross-section of environmental educators from diverse areas such as schools, government agencies, industry, universities, technical and further education centres, zoos, museums, parks and reserves, environmental education centres and community and conservation groups.
The 麻豆视频 meets monthly on the third Wednesday from 4.00 to 5.30pm via online and occasionally at the . This provides an opportunity to keep in touch about Environmental Education in WA and to plan for joint projects with a diverse range of people.

WA Chapter Programs
LITTLE GREEN STEPS WA (LGSWA)
LGSWA is working with an extensive range of educational resources, networks and local communities towards giving children the confidence and skills to have a positive impact on their lives and environment. This includes childcare centres, preschools, family day care, kindergartens, after school care and long day care services for children aged 0-8 years. Linking to the National Quality Standard, Early Years Learning Framework and Australian Curriculum.听
TURTLE WATCH
Turtle Watch is an 麻豆视频 project and includes a collaborative network of community partners and individuals who work to facilitate the conservation of snake-necked turtles. Turtle Watch also aims to assist in the collection of information, including educational materials, to enhance awareness of the biology and needs of the snake-necked turtle.
WASTE EDUCATION ReSOURCES
This project is a partnership between the WA Chapter and City of Cockburn, supported by the Waste Authority through the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Account. The waste education trailer was developed as a community resource for events, community days, festivals, schools, celebrations and shopping centres in the City of Cockburn. It includes static and dynamic educational resources, including waste and recycling games aimed to educate the community
about waste issues while still having fun.
WasteSorted Schools Program Southern Suburbs
The WA Chapter has secured a contract with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation for the provision of targeted educational strategies for avoidance and recovery of waste in the school context in the southern suburbs on behalf of the DWER for a period of three (3) years from 3 February 2025 to 2 February 2028. Schools will be supported to conduct audits of waste in schools and plan to reduce this over time. Teachers will receive professional support and opportunities to secure grants to assist in projects.

Budding Scientist Expo – 鈥淪eeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all鈥.
Little Green Steps WA holding a Natioanl Sceince Week event for 0-5 yr old children with parents and carers. Exploring a range of hands-on activities including; Aboriginal Artist planting seeds and painting activity, WA Wildlife Hospital local reptiles, Exploring seed pods from Moore Catchment, Little Green Steps WA compost creatures, City of Cockburn Environment Team creating seed balls, Little Green Steps WA make a grassy head, One World Centre families rain drop activity, Coolbellup Library local frogs activities, Froggy’s Fun on the Green.
Carers and children will be encouraged to walk between these activities, across the Coolbellup Hub, to experience the range of hands-on STEM activities. Made possible with City of Cockburn Small Grant and Environment Team support.

FLOURISHING ON COUNTRY: STRENGTHENING CULTURE AND CONNECTION聽
Join international speaker Professor David Zandvliet, UNESCO Chair in Bio-cultural Diversity and Education, alongside Keith Bradby OAM from Gondwana Link and Corey Bridge from Ngaparrtji Ngaparrtji Two-way Science for a panel discussion on Strengthening Culture and Connection through Science based Connection to Country.
The workshop will include roundtable presentations from academics, teachers and environmental organisations, providing opportunities to share ideas and build future collaborations. Participants will also explore The Wetlands Centre Cockburn and the WA Wildlife Hospital and take part in an interactive Ngaparrtji Ngaparrtji Two-way Science workshop.
This inspiring day will encourage educators and students to deepen their understanding of Caring for Country and strengthen their connection to place, wherever they live, learn and work. Details on Events page.听

Biological Earth Environmental Science Day聽
The Biology, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES)聽Day is an annual event that showcases some of the exciting career choices and opportunities in science.听 It is designed to increase students鈥 awareness of real science related careers and encourage them to consider science pathways when selecting subjects at secondary school.
The event will be held at Curtin University and teachers can register to receive the presentations selection for their groups. Information can be found on Events page.听
